South Korea’s No. 2 automotive parts supplier Hyundai Wia Corp. announced its participation in the country's largest robotics industry exhibition "Robot World 2023" held at KINTEX in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, until Oct. 14.
Hyundai Wia took part in the event to strengthen its position as a smart manufacturing logistics solution company and set up the largest booth among exhibitors. At the exhibition, it showcased autonomous parking robots, logistics robots and an integrated robot control system.
The autonomous parking robot, which lifts and parks vehicles by raising the underside of the car, won the "Robot World Award 2023," given by the Robot World Secretariat to evaluate technology, innovation and efficiency among the exhibited items.
Hyundai Wia also unveiled logistics robots that utilize autonomous driving capabilities to move items around a factory. These robots navigate the factory autonomously and create real-time maps of the factory using LiDAR sensors.
The company presented a real-time integrated control system at the "Smart Manufacturing Logistics Solution Zone." This system allows for monitoring factory conditions and controlling work schedules to increase efficiency. It can flexibly adapt to changing on-site conditions by using multiple logistics robots simultaneously.
